Intro
A Healthy Obsession... sounds like a bit of a contradiction in terms, doesn’t it? It’s simply the best way I can think of describing my passion for clothes and trainers.
Not just any clothes and trainers though. A love of football and growing up as a teenager in the 80s meant i was exposed to and hooked on the labels sported by match-going lads during the period when the cult of “Casual” began.
This is not a football or Casual Culture site though, there are plenty who already do a much better job on those subjects than I ever could. No, this is purely and simply a personal journey through 25 years of clothes and trainers and a home to the label of the same name.
The site is about images, images & more images. The internet equivalent of a coffee-table book. No forum, no chatroom and as little amount of text as is needed. It is in no way intended to be a definitive history – it’s doubtful if that could ever be possible as the styles varied from place to place throughout the 80’s and 90’s – just one way of recording my own take on the style of the times.
The website is, and will continue to be a “work in progress” for a long time – I hope you bear with me as it grows into something you might enjoy visiting.
If it raises a wry smile or a derisory laugh as well as hopefully bringing back some memories for those of you there at the time then the site will have done it’s job.
